STUBBORN GLADNESS

Creative Elizabeth Gilbert shared in her book Big Magic her favorite poem, written by another Gilbert, that included the phrase “stubborn gladness.” She liked it so much she had it tattooed on her wrist. It’s a tattoo in white, so it’s not super visible, but it’s there as a reminder to be stubbornly glad in this life.

That idea resonates with me. I like the idea of the text melding into the mandala, as a reminder, somewhat hidden, that in the lives we lead, we can always look to be stubbornly glad.
