SMALL TOWN SWITZERLAND

I was fortunate to stay in the lovely town of Bad Ragaz, Switzerland for a few days on either side of my trip to France. One evening the group of us drove to a nearby town with a small pond to walk around and enjoy the view.

After our nature viewing we wandered up old cobbled streets to come upon a historically preserved part of town, with beautiful buildings with windows with colored wood shutters, planters and brightly colored plants in them.

A woman popped her head out from an upper level of one of the homes to say hello. She told us she was an immigrant to Switzerland years ago and that she ran the small cafe underneath for a long time. Her husband had passed away and was longing for company.

We enjoyed pleasantries under the bright blue sky and savored the neighborly experience.
